Superintendent's Message
About Us
Greetings Lone Pine Community!
I am William A. Brown, and it is the honor of my career to serve as your next Superintendent. We are working to make the Lone Pine Unified School District more accessible to each of you by keeping our lines of communication open. One method of communication with you is this website. Take some time to browse around and see some of the great things we have to offer.
Lone Pine is what I call Uncommon because of its many unique qualities. It’s common to see student performance increase through middle school then taper off or even start to fall during the high school years. It is uncommon to see student performance increase through high school. That is what happens here in LPUSD. It is common to see schools who have 50% or more students who qualify for free or reduced lunch perform below average. LPUSD has more than 60% and performs above average academically. Uncommon. We have high performing athletic and CTE programs, a safe and supportive community and top-notch students. This is reflective of the hard work done by our staff, students, administrators, board and all other interested stakeholders. It is for these reasons and more that I am excited to be a member of this team.
It is my hope to build a school system that provides uncommon experiences for the students and families we serve. To do this, we have to all work together. I have a lot to learn still, and I am keeping my door open to anyone who would like to share ideas, suggestions, needs and expectations with me.
I am grateful for this opportunity to work with you all and look forward to hearing from you.
Will
